Ekoplekz Unveils New Album Reflekzionz

Ekoplekz will drop Reflekzionz in May via Planet Mu.

Reflekzionz is experimental musician Nick Edwards’ third album, following Four Track Mind and the outstanding Unfidelity. Edwards also released the acclaimed Westerleigh Works EP on Perc Trax in 2012 and Entropik EP via Planet Mu earlier this month.

As its title implies, the album has a more wistful mood, moving away from the less-accessible elements of his best known work. According to Planet Mu, Ekoplekz has discarded “radiophonic sci-fi sounds, ancient drum machines and… post-punk bass or guitar” in favour of a more ’70s influenced, melody-driven sound.

The label says that Reflekzionz “focuses on invoking a blurry, saturated false-memory of the leftfield electronica that was the soundtrack to his life in the early to mid-1990s” while paying tribute to influences like AFX and kosmische musik pioneers Cluster. Clips can be heard on the Planet Mu website after the jump.
