Tresor Announce Surgeon Boxset

Tresor Records will reissue Surgeon’s seminal trio of LPs as a boxset.

Surgeon (Anthony Child) originally released the albums – Basictonalvocabulary, Balance and Force + Form – between 1997 and 1999 on Tresor and now the Berlin label will put them out as a series of double vinyl sets throughout 2015. 12″s titled Remake which accompanied each album will also be reissued while a 3 CD boxset bundling the albums into one package will be available to purchase on 8th June. The full tracklist is detailed below.

DJ and producer Child, based in Birmingham, UK, first appeared as Surgeon in 1991 and his innovative minimal techno 12″s earned him critical acclaim as well as comparisons to influential Detroit techno musician Jeff Mills. Child’s records, while also encompassing acid and electro, are celebrated for their economy of sound and muscular toughness. Though his most well-known releases and the three aforementioned albums came out on Tresor, Child has also put out 12″s on Soma, Dynamic Tension and Counterbalance and has collaborated with former Sandwell District member Karl O’Connor as British Murder Boys.
