Surgeon, Blawan, KiNK and more Launch Tiptop Audio Label with V.A. 001

A new label called Tiptop Audio Records has a nine-track LP featuring modular recordings from Blawan, Surgeon, KiNK and more coming out soon.

The label is a project of Tiptop Audio, an LA-based company that builds hardware modular instruments. For their first release they’ve lined up a nine-track album, which, in addition to Blawan, KiNK and Surgeon, will feature cuts from Richard Devine, Phase VI (John Tejada and Drumcell’s project) and Christian Burkhardt. Though an official release date is yet to be announced, V.A. 001 will come out digitally and as a double-vinyl LP with artwork by Matteo Giampaglia.

The forthcoming record will represent “a range of artists who, through their tracks, explore the landscape of dance music in a very fresh perspective. These are the artists who inspire the Tiptop team to make more innovative devices, which in turn make new music (a nice feedback loop).”

Listen to clips of all nine tracks via the SoundCloud player below where a promo video for V.A. 001 and the full tracklist have also been included.

KiNK Releases New EP for Running Back

Bulgarian producer KiNK (Strahil Velchev) will release a new four track EP on Gerd Janson’s Running Back label in March.

Titled Cloud Generator, Janson says the EP will consist of “computer nerd symphonies and cyberpunk melodies for clubs, roofless raves, and virtual racing games.” Though no previews are available yet the record’s tracklist is detailed below and viewers can listen to clips of KiNK’s 2014 album Under Destruction via SoundCloud.

KiNK has also contributed a remix to Daniel Avery’s forthcoming New Energy compilation – find out more info here while Running Back celebrated their 50th release in October with the issue of Redshape’s Leaves 12″, which I wrote about here.

Daniel Avery To Release New Energy Compilation

A two-disk collection featuring remixes of tracks from Daniel Avery’s Drone Logic album will come out through Phantasy Sound on 2nd March. Titled New Energy, it features contributions from Rødhåd, Perc and Roman Flügel and more. The tracklist is detailed at the foot of this post.

Most of the remixed tracks appeared on Avery’s debut album, Drone Logic, which landed in October 2013 and New Energy collates some previously released remixes as well as a number of new ones. There’s a generous portion of techno across the two disks with Ø [Phase], Silent Servant, Rødhåd, Conforce, Perc and Audion contributing while additions from Factory Floor, Roman Flügel, KiNK, Powell, Special Request and Danny Daze stretch out the horizon the package.

New Energy will be released on CD and digital formats on 2nd March. In a previous post, I wrote about a Daniel Avery 12″ release with remixes from Rødhåd, Silent Servant and Volte-Face, which is due this month.
