Chevel’s Blurse Gets Remixed by Paula Temple, Lee Gamble and Perc

Following on from Chevel’s recent LP Blurse, Stroboscopic Artefacts are readying a remix package of tracks lifted from the album. Set to drop on 4th December, Blurse Remixed will available on vinyl and digital formats.

Chevel (Dario Tronchin) has previously put out 12″s for Non Series, his own label Enklav and Stroboscopic Artefacts, for whom he released his third LP, Blurse. This remix package takes four tracks from the album and hands them over to Paula Temple, Minor Science, Lee Gamble and Perc. The press release describes the collection as, “minds in the process of melting together and re-forming as something unanticipated and evocative.”

Temple’s version of Stranded has a “high level of intensity and urgency, laying down a primer coat of prowling bass and radioactive zaps that contrast unexpectedly well with the placid synth swells from Chevel’s original mix…[enticing] listeners back for more.” Lee Gamble’s Watery Drumming remix is “adventurous and slightly mischievous” while Perc’s mix of Heimweh “is every bit as haunted and mesmerizing as the previous mixes are sharp and electrifying: like the soundtrack to a slow glide…its mix of time-reversed drones, shivering organ and spectral winds launches the imagination into a meditation.” The EP’s final remix, Loop #42, by Minor Science “provides a perfect contrast….[laying] down sheets of glittering and rippling texture atop a curious and exploratory bass pulse.”

Redshape Unveils Bleep Repeat 12″

Bleep Repeat, a new 12″ from Redshape will drop on 4th December via his Present label.

The two acid techno cuts are described as a marriage of “science fiction, psychosis and savagery”, with the propulsive title track paying “homage to classic UK rave sounds” and featuring “synth lines that sting.” B-side Paper Blades is all about “hissing breakbeats and a sinewy bassline”.

Bleep Repeat also comes with a caution: “Be warned: this is not your typical peak-time standby. This release is as challenging as it is epic, and will serve skilled djs well.”

Pan Drop Lee Gamble 12″

PAN have issued a surprise release of Lee Gamble’s B23 Steelhouse 12″.

The new white label features edits of two unreleased Gamble songs. The lead cut B23 Steelhouse, is a rework of 2013’s dubplate Steelhouse Chaconne while for those who felt that the brutal Motor System (from Gamble’s Koch LP) needed a longer cut, an extended edit is on the flipside.

Ricardo Villalobos Reissues Alcachofa Classics

On 21st September, Sei Es Drum will release Villalobos’ Easy Lee / Dexter on vinyl.

The two cuts are both taken from the Chilean’s seminal debut album Alcachofa, which was released in 2003. Listen to Dexter below.

Planet Mu Celebrates 20 Years With 50 Track Compilation

To celebrate their 20th anniversary, Planet Mu will release µ20, a 50-track compilation on 4th September.

The UK label, which was founded by Mike Paradinas (aka µ-Ziq), is known for its eclectic, genre-hopping style with IDM, experimental, dubstep, grime and footwork all being represented since its establishment twenty years ago. µ20 contains 50 tracks of previously released and unreleased material across three CDs which are housed in a DVD-sized boxset. The compilation also comes with a 100-page book written by music journalist Rory Gibb that charts the history of Planet Mu. In addition to the deluxe boxset, a 12″ will be issued and there will be digital and double-CD versions available.

The music on the first and second CDs comes mainly from this decade, with contributions from Ekoplekz, FaltyDL, Kuedo, Machinedrum, Ital Tek, Rp Boo, Venetian Snares and new signing Herva. CD three dips further back into the roster from the late nineties and early 2000s with a range of contributions from artists including Paradinas (as µ-Ziq), Jega, Neil Landstrumm, Speedy J, Shitmat, Leafcutter John and Hrvatski.

Kompakt Announce Total 15

On 17th August, Kompakt will release the latest edition in their long-running Total compilation series, Total 15.

Apart from 2013, when the Cologne label took a year’s break from the series to focus on its 20th anniversary, each year has seen a new volume of Total. 2015’s issue sees a mix of new and previously released material with contributions from Kompakt cornerstones Michael Mayer and Wolfgang Voigt (as Wassermann) as well as Superpitcher, Kölsch, Gui Boratto, John Tejada and Jürgen Paape. Cuts from recent signings Agoria and Dauwd also feature.

The compilation will be available digitally and on CD and double vinyl. The full tracklist is laid out below

Trevino Announces New EP for Klockworks

On 25th May, Trevino will drop Klockworks 14,  a new 12″ for Klockworks.

The Manchester based producer previously appeared on Ben Klock’s label with Klockworks 09 in 2012 and has since dropped 12″s on labels like Hypercolour, 3024 and The Nothing Special.

Available digitally and on vinyl, Klockworks 14 is the label’s first release of 2015 and features “smooth, skillfully constructed tracks” that “teeter on the boundary between house and techno feeding from various influences” and “showcase his ability to string together diverse atmospheres and emotions. With deep, resonating basslines, Trevino is able to find a timeless sound letting the body move freely through ethereal synths and delicate strings.”

Voices From The Lake Ready New Live Album

Voices From The Lake – the duo of Italian experimental techno producers Donato Dozzy and Neel – will release a live album on 22nd June.

Titled Live at Maxxi, the seven-track LP was recorded late last year at the Open Museum Open City exhibition in Rome and will come out via Vienna-based label Editions Mego on vinyl, CD and digital formats.

Live at Maxxi follows their outstanding self-titled debut album, which was one of the best releases of 2012, and Neel’s solo LP Phobos. Earlier this month Dozzy released Sintetizzatrice in collaboration with vocalist Anna Caragnano – read more on that here.

Jennifer Cardini’s label Correspondant will issue Correspondant Compilation 03 on 15th June.

The third edition in the Correspondant Compilation series includes tracks from Roman Flügel and Chloé, newer artists such as Bird Of Paradise and Sigward as well as Correspondant affiliates Man Power, Javi Redondo and Red Axes. The full tracklist is below.

The Cyclist Reveals New EP, Preview It Now

Andrew Morrison, AKA The Cyclist, has announced the release of the Hot House EP. which will drop on 6th April.

The UK producer who describes himself as a “tape throb master” put out his second LP Flourish via All City Records last year and his lo-fi analogue take on mangled reinterpretations of house music will appear on the six track Hot House EP. London-based label Music Is for Losers will put out the record on vinyl while 100% Silk will release it on cassette tape.
